A Taste of North Lake County

1-24-11

This entry is going to be quite different from the usual.  A lot more words and only one collage, so here we go...

First I need to tell where we were.  Every year there is an event where local restaurants bring food and you eat, and eat, and eat, then eat some more.  You vote for your favorite, mingle, even dance a little.

We didn't know it at the time, but this night changed our lives.  While at this event Mommy got back in touch with an old school friend named Maranda.  It turns out Maranda got married and had 2 kids of her own, her husband is a pastor at a local church.  Mommy and Daddy were looking for a new church, but that idea hadn't sunk in just yet :)  So Maranda and Mommy find each other on Facebook, Maranda invites the family to an event at their church (pics to follow...eventually).  Mommy and Daddy found other friends at that church, shortly after that we became members and shortly after that they all became like family.  It's amazing to me how wonderfully God works.  He planted the seeds and we couldn't be happier!  We all love our Church Family, Dani has flourished, Mommy stands firmer in her faith, and Daddy finally began his walk with Christ.  After years of pushing from Mommy, he just needed to see what we call "Manly Men of God"...you know, "real" men who believe, aren't ashamed of it, and don't use it as a crutch.  We all still have a long way to go, but it feels so good to be doing this together, as a family.  So because of this one night there have been huge changes in our lives, and we thank God for those changes every day.

So here it is...the lonely collage :)

Party Time!

1-23-11
Dani's 3rd birthday party!  This year Dani wanted Ariel and Tinkerbell on her cake.

There were lots of friends.

Aunt MaryAnn and Ellie even came over!

The cake was very yummy...

So yummy, Daddy didn't want to share!  (Just kidding, he just got the very last piece.)

There was a furry guest and everyone loved the party favors.

Lots of presents and even a few funny faces :)

Portrait time!  This year we set up in Grammie's living room for Dani's birthday session.  And I just have to say...this kid is a blast to photograph!

Birthday Girl! Part 2

1-22-11
Part 2

Next we had dinner at Grammie and PawPaw's house.  Grandma Zonnie and Parker came too!

First Dani got to open presents.

When she gave Parker a hug to say thank you, Grammie had to steal one too!

Then there was a big bag of presents from Mommy & Daddy full of all kinds of stuff.  But what Dani loved best was the new Ariel doll (in case you couldn't tell).

After dinner it was time for cake and ice cream!  But first she had to blow out her candles!

Can you tell she really likes cake?

Then it was time for Dani's annual photo shoot and to tell Parker goodbye.  During their hug they had their typical cousins hug-o-war and both ended up on the floor :)

Birthday Girl! Part 1

1-22-11
Mommy took a lot of pictures on Dani's 3rd birthday, so many they need more than one post!  Please forgive me now for all the horrible angle shots, I tried to straighten some, but many were just too crooked to fix.  Guess I thought it looked cool at the time.
:-/

First there was a pancake breakfast at the club house for our subdivision.  It was so cute, all the old people sang Happy Birthday to Dani :)

Next we went to the big park to play and to go to Lizzy's birthday party.  It was VERY windy!

It was so windy I didn't manage to get any pictures of Lizzy's birthday candle lit!  If you look closely at the middle picture of Lizzy you'll see she has frosting on her forehead :)

After that we went to Uncle Ray's to visit him and Daddy.  Dani got to pretend drive the tractor!

Then she got to really drive the forklift!

Of course no visit is complete without visiting Tuffy!

More tumble time

1-21-11

Dani had another chance to go to tumbling at the YMCA and Grammie came too!

First there was time to run and play with the other kids.

Then Dani got to show off her basket ball skills.

As always there was log rolling and somersaults.

Arm crawling under a bridge

Parachute play!

Stretching, stickers and more showing off.
