Huzzah!

7-17-11

After the end of Vacation Bible School our church had a party!  This year VBS focused on The Armor of God, along with armor came lessons about Roman soldiers and more, including getting everyone to yell "Huzzah!" to cheer.

Parker got his face painted.

John helped some of the kids with archery.

Kevin and Shawn battled on the joust..

Peter did well in "the arena"... until the bottom right picture :)

Then it was brother vs. brother with Peter vs. Robb

Next it was Noah's turn to joust against his Uncle Robb.

And here's a shot of the foyer at church...pretty cool huh?

Dinosaurs, Party, and Cowboys...Oh My!

 7-16-11

Because Parker's birthday is so close to Christmas people are always busy when it's time for his party :( So Crystal decided to have a half birthday party! It was dino themed because that's what Pickles likes.
 Everybody enjoyed the food...
  some more traditionally that others...
There was a dino dig where the kids found fossils.
And what kind of party would it be without cake and ice cream?
Parker got a rocket thing that kept all the kids (including the adult ones) entertained for quite a while.
On the way home from the party we heard that there was a cowboy mounted shooting event nearby so we stopped to watch some. It looked soooo fun! I want to try it!  For the record, they are shooting blanks, it's the percussion that pops the balloons...or so I'm told.
 Such a fun day!!!

A long weekend in Virginia

7-3-11 & 7-4-11

We went to Virginia to visit family and stayed in this beautiful little town.  I just loved the buildings and the stores! This long after the trip I don't remember what day of the week we went up there, or why I only took pictures on 2 days.  But I do remember that Brandy, Dani and I went for a walk one morning and I took a lot of pictures even though it was already hot.

There were cool cars and beautiful flowers everywhere!

There was this one cool, old, governmental looking building that Dani decided to "pose" in front of.

There was a really pretty bridge that we stopped at (photos by Brandy) but the pictures don't do it justice.

Then we went to Anjie's mom's house where all the kids got to play.  They had a zip line set up but Dani preferred the hammock.

Growing up we called him Chris...but now he goes by Ross...it confuses me sometimes!  But here he is with his youngest boy, I just love these images!

And it's really all about family, that's why I love these next images.

Elsewhere in the little town are these giant metal...sculptures?  I'm not sure what to call them...but they were fun for pictures!  The first was the watering can.

Next was a giant shoe, a giant pot, and another globe-like sculpture.  The big pot had little strawberries growing in it :)

Random crazy family shots!

Then we went to a park...

The sky and moon were so beautiful!

Then there was more general family craziness, which for this family is pretty normal.
And if you know us, you know that we are not afraid to show we care.  Hugs aren't just appreciated, they are expected!

The next day I was able to snap a few shots of the cool old cars that were parked at our hotel.

I love these shots of Dani looking out our hotel window <3 br="">

On the long drive home Dani noticed the sky was full of hot air balloons!

And even though I don't like bridges, especially when they're under construction...this one was OK because I got some half decent pics of it...
